**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** Candidates will be operating overhead cranes to move structural steel. They will use various equipment, including jib cranes, gantry cranes, pallets, transfers, and forklifts. **Responsibilities** + Operate overhead cranes to move structural steel. + Utilize jib cranes, gantry cranes, pallets, transfers, and forklifts. + Work within a team to communicate and solve problems related to new projects. + Maintain a high level of communication with peers and supervisors. + Lift 20 lbs continuously, 35 lbs frequently, and 85 lbs occasionally. **Essential Skills** + Experience in crane operation and material handling. + Minimum of 6 months of experience working as a welder for a steel fabricator or manufacturer. + Or, a one-year degree or certificate in welding technology from a qualified trade school or college. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in steel manufacturing. + General labor experience. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a dynamic and open work environment with ample opportunities for peer and supervisor communication. Employees can benefit from a supportive and collaborative team structure, with regular opportunities for overtime and a shift pay differential for second shift workers. **Work Environment** The work environment is a very large warehouse-type facility with open garages and non-climate controlled conditions. During the summer, the heat can be on average 20 degrees hotter than the outside temperature, while it remains normal in winter. Large overhead cranes are stationed over each work area to move steel beams. The environment is spacious, with no work station boundaries, and includes frequent movement of people and forklifts. The dress code includes a t-shirt, jeans, and metatarsal boots. New employees must have their own metatarsal boots from day one, while permanent employees receive annual boot vouchers. The company operates on 4 ten-hour shifts, with overtime offered as a full ten-hour shift on the fifth day. Shifts are Monday to Thursday with overtime on Friday, and Thursday to Sunday with overtime on Monday. First shift runs from 5 AM to 3:30 PM, and the second shift from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, with a 7% shift pay differential for the second shift.
