Material Handler
**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** Under general supervision, the Material Handler is responsible for performing the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in receiving, storing, and distributing materials, parts, and supplies. This role also includes maintaining accurate records of materials and inventory. **Responsibilities** + Receive, store, and distribute materials, parts, and supplies. + Maintain accurate records of materials and inventory. + Adhere to safety procedures, including good housekeeping and ergonomics practices. + Carry out verbal and written instructions in English. + Participate in cross-training and teamwork initiatives. + Identify and report safety and quality issues. + Learn new processes, systems, and equipment. + Contribute to team improvement and conflict resolution. + Complete detailed documentation accurately. + Sort and handle small component parts. **Essential Skills** + Ability to meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends. + Proficiency in reading and understanding procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English. + Capability to communicate verbally in English. + Attention to detail and ability to note and correct inconsistencies. + Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds constantly. + Good visual perception and fine motor skills. **Why Work Here?** This role offers a stable and supportive work environment with opportunities for growth and cross-training. The work involves handling materials and sorting small parts with an emphasis on safety and attention to detail. The role requires the ability to follow detailed instructions. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
