Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to operate sit-down forklifts in a large non-climate-controlled paper recycling plant. The role involves forklift operation for 90% of the shift, with the remaining 10% dedicated to cleaning, emptying boxes, and throwing boxes into the compactor. The shift is from 12noon-8pm PM to , Monday through Friday, and we have two openings available.
ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down forklifts efficiently in a large non-climate-controlled environment.Perform cleaning tasks, including emptying boxes and throwing boxes into the compactor.Load and unload trailers as required.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Essential SkillsAt least 6 months of recent forklift experience, specifically sit-down forklifts.Experience in loading and unloading trailers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Linde forklifts is a plus but not required.Ability to work in a dirty environment with cardboard and paper covering the floors.Must be able to wear jeans and steel-toed boots at all times.
Work Environment
This is one of the largest recycling plants in Omaha, characterized by a dirty work environment with cardboard and paper covering the warehouse floors. The facility is not climate-controlled, meaning it can be very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. However, our forklifts are equipped with heaters for the winter months and will have air conditioning starting in September. Employees must wear jeans and steel-toed boots at all times.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50
