Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

This position is called Load Out. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient loading of completed units onto flatbed, open-air trailers, as well as the proper storage of equipment. This role requires the use of various machinery and tools, adherence to safety protocols, and effective organization skills.

ResponsibilitiesOperate a payloader or large forklift along with overhead cranes daily.Load completed units onto flatbed, open-air trailers.Position, jack/block, and remove certain components (e.g., tires, tracks, sprayer wings) to fit within trucking regulations.Load removed components onto the flatbed to ensure everything ships together.Position everything on the trailer to be securely strapped down.Use hand and power tools every day.Follow all company safety rules and regulations.Keep the work area clean and organized.Properly use and care for company tools.Train and become certified in the use of forklifts, cranes, and other necessary machines.Take completed equipment from the production area and store it outside until it is ready for shipment/trucking.Essential SkillsExperience with loading agricultural or construction equipment is preferred.Mechanical ability to remove tires, sprayer wings, etc.Excellent communication skills.Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to operate a computer to open documents in Word and Excel.Experience in operating forklifts, skid loaders, overhead cranes, and pay loaders.Self-motivated and goal-oriented personality.Ability to take direction from supervisors.Ability to make decisions with or without supervision.Teamwork-oriented.Additional Skills & Qualifications1 year of heavy equipment or forklift experience using hand and power tools (ideally in a metal shop, but not required).Must be able to identify different tools and hardware.Ability to be on feet for 10+ hour shifts.Able to move and bend under and around large equipment.

Work Environment

Work in a very new and clean agricultural manufacturing facility. The pace is self-directed, but there are deadlines to meet to keep projects moving. Loading is done inside one of the bays, but there are times when you will need to go outside to bring in equipment when truckers arrive. Cabs on payloaders and forklifts are enclosed, though some outdoor work is required, including pushing snow around stored equipment. Work hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, with potential overtime on Fridays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
