Material Handler
**Job Title: Material Handler Forklift** **Job Description** The Forklift Operator role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our production area while handling the movement of products with precision and care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods within our warehouse. **Responsibilities** + Pick raw materials orders for Production. + Accurately select flooring product orders, palletize, and shrink-wrap each order, ensuring secure handling of the heavy material. + Transport products to and from production into the warehouse. + Store the products in proper places in the production warehouse. + Deliver products in a safe and timely manner. + Sort, pack, wrap, tie, and label products as per company procedures. + Monitor and maintain accurate inventory. + Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood, and plastic. + Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure a safe and positive working atmosphere. + Perform routine pre and post inspections and recommend repairs. + Study production schedule to determine material requirements, movements, and deliveries. + Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to the Supervisor immediately. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Forklift operation + Material handling + Inventory management + RF scanner usage + Sit down forklift operation + Pallet jack operation + Shipping and receiving + Order picking + Stand up forklift operation + Reach truck operation **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to lift 50+ lbs + Punctuality + At least 1+ year of experience **Why Work Here?** Currently undergoing an expansion and increasing headcount - a great time to get in on the team as the company grows! **Work Environment** The work environment is a large food production warehouse where production lines include salad dressing, mustard, and other products. Candidates should expect to work with mixers, bottlers, shipping/receiving, quality control, etc. This is a GMP environment so candidates MUST wash hands before working, wear proper PPE, and adhere to GMP guidelines. Hair nets and beard nets are A MUST. Candidates should expect a fast-paced work environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
