Job Title: Material Handler

Job DescriptionThe Material Handler is responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the receiving, staging, returning, shipping, storage, destruction, and inventory management of products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role involves unpacking and checking material received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of received material, and rejecting unsatisfactory items according to procedural requirements. Additionally, the Material Handler picks and stages material for production work orders, packs material for shipments, performs cycle counts, item verification, consolidation, and transfer of material.

ResponsibilitiesReceive, stage, return, ship, store, destroy, and manage inventory of products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.Unpack and check material received against purchase orders or invoices.Maintain records of received material and reject unsatisfactory items according to procedural requirements.Pick and stage material for production work orders and pack material for shipments.Perform cycle counts, item verification, consolidation, and transfer of material.Adhere to good documentation practicesSkills & QualificationsFamiliarity with GDP (Good Documentation Practices).Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. independently.Comfortable with opening and closing freezers multiple times a day.Previous experience working with minimal supervision.Why Work Here?

Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with sporadic overtime related to shipping activities. Overtime is voluntary and may include up to an hour during the week or occasional Saturday work. The work environment includes cold rooms at -20 degrees, requiring the opening of large freezers. Employees will be packing in and out of coolers and are provided jackets. They can step out of the cold environment at any time. The minimum lifting requirement is 20 lbs., with a maximum of 40 lbs. independently. There is a possibility of future work at a new 106,000 square foot warehouse facility in Otay Mesa.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
