Job Title: Materials Handler

Location: Ocala, FL

Pay: $14-$15/hr

Shift: 8am-5pm/9am-6pm (Mon-Thurs)

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Materials Handler to join our team. The Materials Handler will be responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of materials within our warehouse and production areas. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

The shipping clerk may help load trucks or move loads. They will document information in a computer system (UPS worldship) and will make sure orders are organized. They will schedule pickups and will ensure orders are loaded on the correct trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies.Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks.Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.Prepare and package materials for shipment or delivery to production areas.Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.Monitor and maintain the condition of material handling equipment.Implement and adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.Assist in the training of new employees on proper material handling procedures.Perform routine inventory audits to ensure accuracy and adequate supply levels.Dispose of waste materials in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a materials handler or in a similar role preferred.Familiarity with inventory management and warehouse operations.Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Strong organizational and time management skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication skills.Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy materials, up to 50 lbs regularly.Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $15.00
