**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. This role involves pulling customer orders based on invoices and tickets, assisting the burn table operator, and moving products throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, reorganizing materials, and ensuring orders are accurately fulfilled. **Responsibilities** + Pull customer orders based on invoices and tickets. + Assist the burn table operator to pull products for orders. + Move products by bending, kneeling, and walking for most of the day. + Pull orders from racks and use large cranes to move large steel orders. + Reorganize materials in 'monkey racks' to ensure stock is organized. + Load and unload trucks and assist customers with their orders. + Utilize the color system to organize raw materials based on steel thickness. + Communicate with management about order status and prioritize tasks accordingly. **Essential Skills** + Warehouse experience + Material handling + Loading and general labor + Ability to use a tape measure + Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts + Machine operation skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with micrometers and calipers + Valid driver's license + Ability to see all colors + Ability to lift 50 lbs + Labor-intensive work experience (e.g., carpentry, construction, mechanical) - 1+ years + Longevity in previous positions - 2+ years in each role + Experience in military, building maintenance, or product variations/measurements **Why Work Here?** We offer the opportunity to be trained on overhead cranes, a highly marketable skill. Our company places a high focus on safety within the facility. **Work Environment** The work environment is a large warehouse with stacks of steel and racks (called monkey racks). It can be loud and dirty due to the nature of the product. There are many distractions from customers and orders. The temperature varies, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The first shift runs from 7am to 4pm. The team size fluctuates between 15-20 members, with no seasonal layoffs. The warehouse is divided into four sections, with each picker specializing in a specific area. Work is mostly independent. Employees must wear jeans, steel-toed boots, and work-appropriate attire for safety reasons. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
