Material Handler
**Material Handler** **Paying $22 / HR** **Location - Portland, OR** **Job Description** Sorting and organizing metals for processing and recycling. Material handling. Unloading trucks and loading trucks. Working in the warehouse and also outside in the yard where you will be exposed to the elements (rain gear provided). Roughly 50% of work will be inside and 50% of the work will be outside. Will start in metal sorting and grading and if performance is good will be trained in equipment operation later. Typically equipment operation is something people start doing after being hired direct. Regular scheduled hours are 7:30am-4pm. **Responsibilities** + Sort and organize metals for processing and recycling. + Handle materials efficiently and safely. + Unload and load trucks. + Work in both the warehouse and outdoor yard areas. + Start with metal sorting and grading tasks. + Potentially train in equipment operation based on performance. **Essential Skills** + No experience required. + Comfortable working in industrial environments. + Willingness to learn forklift operation. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in manufacturing or warehousing. + Comfortable wearing all PPE while working: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, high visibility vests, steel toed boots, ear plugs. + Comfortable working outside about 50% of the time. **Why Work Here?** Excellent benefits package including Union pay raises every year, affordable medical insurance with low deductible, dental, vision, PTO, ability to contribute up to 50% of wages to 401K, 15% company match with 401K contributions, pension with $2 contributed for every hour worked, performance raises, profit sharing, quarterly bonuses, and performance bonuses. **Work Environment** 115-year family-owned business that cares about their employees.
