Needs are 2 for 1st shift, 2 for 2nd shift

Pay Range: $19.91 / hour for 1st shift, $21.40 for 2nd shift

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing core logistics functions, including Receiving, Storing, Issuing, Inventory, Mail, Delivery, Packing, and Shipping. This role involves handling, moving, and processing materials in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling & Transportation:

Load and move unclassified materials, property, and miscellaneous items on/off incoming trucks, within the plant, associated warehouses, and offsite locations. Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (forklifts, electric scooters, etc.), manual/electric pallet jacks, carts, semi-lives with T-Handles, and other material handling equipment. Secure materials for transit using strapping, blocking, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage.

Receiving & Storage:

Unload materials onto pallets, racks, trays, or shelves using manual lifting, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift carts, overhead hoists, or cranes. Open containers, crates, and bundles using hand tools such as steel cutters, crowbars, drills, and knives. Identify and validate materials against documentation and system records for accurate tracking. Prioritize and process incoming mail and materials based on established protocols.

Inventory Management & Documentation:

Perform manual and/or weight counts of materials and property. Record and update internal/external logs, forms, and databases. Attach appropriate identification tags, labels, and markings to materials for proper tracking. Follow written and verbal instructions for processing and moving inventory.

Packing & Shipping:

Determine appropriate packaging materials using calculators, tape measures, and mathematical formulas. Operate specialized equipment such as sealers, saws, drills, box-making machines, foam-in-place machines, label printers, RF scanners, and shrink wrap machines. Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and perform necessary maintenance.

Safety & Compliance:

Conduct routine safety checks and general cleanup of logistics areas, removing trip hazards and damaged materials. Identify and report damaged goods or potential safety concerns. Adjust warehouse and storage layouts by rearranging shelves, pallet racks, benches, and other storage systems.

Requirements:

Experience: Prior work experience in logistics functions such as Storing, Issuing, Inventory, and Delivery. Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Physical Ability: Must meet OSHA, Bureau of Labor Standards, and V2X recommendations for lifting and manual handling. Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment. Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics software. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
