Material Handler
ATS Scientific Products is searching for a Temporary Material Handler to join the team!
Maintains inventory levels, locates appropriate materials, distributes materials to proper locations, tracks material locations, and assists with the material ordering process. Supply productions lines, stock materials, count and verify sales and service items. Maintain workplace cleanliness and work in other areas as required. Performs clean up and special projects as needed. In accomplishing these tasks, the Hander regularly operates forklifts and other associated material handling equipment and machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records; examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify; completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
+ Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
+ Transports high technology, high dollar cost equipment, laboratory supplies, office supplies, furniture and hazardous materials to customers or inventory locations.
+ Ensures proper documentation and package marking. Responsible for accurate systemic transactions of all relevant materials and inventory accuracy via cycle-count processes.
+ Participates in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.
+ Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
+ Document information relating to receipt, storage, or distribution of materials.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn Company-specific systems.
• Familiarity with electronic office and business equipment.
• Solid communication skills, including written and interpersonal.
• Ability to ask for help when needed, and willingness to learn.
• Confidence and professionalism in representing the Company.
• Willingness to be a team player, and take direction from management.
• Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and a basic understanding of the various forms of weights and measures (imperial and metric).
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Promotes and practices SPI leadership standards.

To read a tape measure, level, etc. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or able to move heavier items with hand trucks, dollies, carts or other material handling equipment in a safe manner.

Some processes and running equipment can generate moderately loud noises at times. Many areas of the shop are heated (for the cold seasons), but not air conditioned (for the summer months).
