**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** Candidates will be responsible for reconditioning heat exchange plates. The plates are a thin piece of sheet metal (about the size of a door) with rubber gaskets attached. Once the sheets reach the warehouse, candidates will remove the rubber gaskets either by hand or by dipping the sheet in a container full of liquid nitrogen. After removing the gaskets, they will clean the plates by power washing them, test the plates for any cracks or holes by spraying them with a material that identifies defects under a black light, and then wash and dry the plates. They will then glue the gaskets back onto the plates, transfer them into an oven where the gaskets will adhere to the metal, cool the plates off, and prepare them for shipment. **Responsibilities** + Recondition heat exchange plates. + Remove old rubber gaskets. + Clean plates by power washing. + Test plates for cracks or holes. + Wash and dry plates. + Glue new gaskets onto plates. + Transfer plates into an oven to adhere gaskets. + Package plates for shipment. **Essential Skills** + 1 year of manufacturing or production experience. + Attention to detail. + Ability to work in a team. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. + Self-motivated. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with general labor, packing, production, loading, material handling, manufacturing, hand tools, assembly, packaging, forklift, and cleaning. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a small team environment with good advancement opportunities. The team consists of 12 employees, either current or former employees, in a laid-back atmosphere that prioritizes meeting production output without undue pressure. The facility is not climate-controlled. This is a 1st shift opportunity, running from 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work. The dress code requires steel-toed boots and jeans, with safety glasses and gloves provided. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
