**Job Title: Material Handler**
**Job Description**
Candidate will work in a steel distribution center where they ship and cut metal coils for their customers. Candidate will learn the warehouse operations which can include but is not limited to cutting, overhead crane operation, skid building, packaging, and machine operating/helper roles. Candidates will operate an overhead crane, sit-down industrial forklift, utilize saws, and cutting mechanisms for coils. Learn every aspect of receiving and shipping steel products. Candidates will read work orders, perform all housekeeping duties, and must be flexible for all duties as assigned. They will start the day with production goals in mind for how many pieces they need to process, cut, package, QC, and bundle before they are shipped.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate an overhead crane and sit-down industrial forklift.
+ Utilize saws and cutting mechanisms for metal coils.
+ Learn and execute warehouse operations including cutting, packaging, skid building, and machine operation.
+ Read work orders and achieve daily production goals.
+ Perform quality control checks and ensure accurate measurements using tape measures.
+ Assist in building skids when necessary.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
+ Be flexible to perform various duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Material handling experience.
+ Experience in picking, inventory, production, and manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in using tape measures and performing measurements.
+ Warehouse and crane operation experience.
+ Forklift operation experience.
+ Overhead crane experience.
+ Experience with RF scanners.
+ General labor experience.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Candidates must have experience in a heavy industrial environment.
+ Attention to detail for various sizes of metal products.
+ Ability to perform quality control checks.
+ Forklift experience is required.
+ Overhead crane experience is a plus.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a steel distribution center with temperature control. It can be dirty and physical. The work hours are as follows: 1st shift (5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday), 2nd shift (1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday - Friday), or mid-shift (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday).
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
