Position: Material Handler
Location: A820 Wood Reels, Hartselle, AL
Wage:  $20.44 / HR

Shift: 1st

Position Summary: The material handler will work in the shipping department of our manufacturing facility to move and store product. This position requires frequent lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking.  The material handler will need to be able to read and understand print/digital documents such as manuals and safety guides.

Responsibilities: 
• Move materials by hand or using hoists, lift beams, etc.  
• Store materials in designated areas.  
• Pack and unpack materials.  
• Work safely around moving vehicles and equipment.  
• Perform routine checks on vehicles and equipment used for transporting materials.  
• Train new employees on proper material handling techniques.  
• Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications: 
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist, and walk throughout the day.  
• Availability to work overtime as needed (both during the week and on call).  
• Strong organizational skills.  
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.  
• Able to read and understand print/digital documents.  
• Basic math skills.  
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.  
• 1 year of previous experience in a warehouse environment preferred.  
• Experience with mobile equipment operation required (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) preferred.
