Material Handler/Forklift Operator Lockport, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=378+Niagara+Street+Lockport+NY+USA+14094) Description Under the direction of the Lead Person and/or the Plant Supervisor/Manager, the Material Handler will be responsible for the transportation of incoming and outgoing material between shipping and production machinery, or all of the various duties and tasks as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Transport all incoming and outgoing material to and from shipping dock. · Transport material to and from production machines. · May need to run a production machine for an average of 1 hour per day due to work load fluctuations. · Move rolls to and from machines using hand trucks or fork lifts and unload incoming shipments. · Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. · Follow all safety procedures and company policies. · Maintain a professional, clean and safe work area. · Other related duties as assigned. Use mechanical lift if weight exceeds 50 pounds. · Must be able to physically perform all job duties. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Knowledge of operating hand trucks and fork trucks. · Knowledge of operating dollies, pallet jacks, or other moving equipment. · Must be flexible, friendly, engaging and proactive. · Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. · High School Diploma, or GED. Salary Description $16.50 to $19.00 per hour
