Shift: 3rd: Sunday – Friday, 11pm – 7am
Job Summary:
This position works under the supervision of the Supervisor - Manufacturing, or in his/her absence, the designee. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily, and results are reviewed daily or as needed.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Transport material from workstation to workstation and from and to storage areas. Receive, issue, maintain and inventory raw materials and forgings. Coordinate order priorities, resolve quality and production problems, and provide material handling support as needed. Operate a forklift to transport materials from inside and outside the plant to and from workstations and storage areas. Operate, setup, inspect, and troubleshoot as required to support production. Supply components (i.e., carbide, braze, steel-bodies) to operators. Coordinate schedule requirements based on requesting department needs and communicate to supervisor the need for additional personnel or support. Perform Magnaflux, shear, and Rockwell tests as required. Perform grinding, blasting, dipping, labeling, reporting, packing, clipping operations as needed to support production. Receives, maintains, and issues from inventory raw materials, forgings, and freight. Work as fill-in for machine operators as needed. Perform preventive maintenance on fixtures, chains, coils, block washers, saws, dip tank, Jenfab, blaster, grinder, and lathe to assure reliable operation as needed. Assist other material handlers as needed. Inspect parts to meet established ISO requirements. Work with QA to ensure timely release of QA held items and accuracy in the information systems and support planners to ensure correction of material errors for accurate inventories. Support functions and changeovers to meet established due dates. Prepare shipments and paperwork for outside vendors as required. Responsible for tracking and problem solving of the materials used and efficient equipment used to reduce cost. Monitor supplies per established Kanban system. Perform cycle counts for area. Responsible for management of WIP and components. Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties. Perform daily required TPM on forklift and associated equipment. Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics. Accurate and timely recording of required data (i.e. Production, Quality, SAP entry, etc.
Required Experience:
A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training. The ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers. A forklift operator’s license. Six months of manufacturing experience is preferred.
