Manage parts and material inventory from receiving, through stockroom and production, to shipment. Build and assemble packaging for small parts to large assemblies for safe transport through all modes of transportation. Operate power industrial trucks, cranes, and additional material handling equipment to move product and materials. Process and manage order information, documentation, and labeling throughout production and in ERP systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Fabricate and assemble packaging to fit and protect products and partsManage and process product information to label, document, and fulfill orders for shipmentReceive materials and parts, inspect for damage, quantity discrepancies, and process delivery receipts and purchase ordersManage inventory within stockroom and production through material transactions, Kanban systems, and cycle countingMove material, parts, and product through facility using power industrial trucks, cranes, and other additional equipmentMonitor jobs and orders scheduled and work through production to ensure shipments are complete and on timePractice and implement Lean Manufacturing techniquesPerform additional functions as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School or equivalentPreferred 3 years’ experience in parcel and freight operationsMust be eligible to work for any employer in the USA without the need of a Sponsor or Transfer now or in the future

DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze and opt for correct packaging size and material to ensure safe travel of items

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & ABILITIES

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsRead and use tape measure and understand basic geometryExcellent organizational skills and strong attention to detailSelf-motivated to maintain a clean work area

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.  When in the shop environment, conditions vary based on the area.  Operation of the forklift may involve direct exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

•   Constantly requires sitting and simple grasping.

•   Frequently involves bending at the neck and waist.

•   Occasionally involves walking, standing, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting from the neck and waist, power grasping, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

•   Involves driving a forklift, working around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures/humidity, dust, gas fumes or chemicals, working at heights, operating of foot controls and repetitive food movement, and is required to utilize protective equipment as needed.
