**Job Overview**
**Summary:** The individual in this position reports to the Material Flow Manager and/or Receiving Supervisor and serves as the “leader” for the Outside Material Handling functions of the operations. This is safety sensitive position because this individual will be responsible for moving products on and off trucks with forklift or combi’s in smaller spaces and around loading docks or operating the shag truck. This individual could be monitoring inventory and using banders, hoists, pallet jacks or other equipment as part of their position. Could also be using a variety of power and hand tools such as pneumatic staplers, nailers, saws etc.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Be the “ leader” for the Outside Material Handlers and assist management in directing the work activities as necessary. Position yourself as the “go to person” for this role.
+ Responsible for knowing each direct report job responsibilities to be able to give clear direction to employees relating to job function.
+ Contribute to a positive atmosphere of cooperation, productivity, team spirit and be a champion of the ownership thinking program
+ Responsible for the movement of products of materials between buildings as determined by the Receiving Manager.
+ Responsible for receiving materials outside **.**
+ Responsible for keeping accurate inventory through the company computer inventory system and through reporting physical locations.
+ Responsible for storing the products between the buildings as instructed.
+ Loading or unloading trucks outside and inside the Weld Shop.
+ Assist with organizing the materials on hand as directed by the Receiving Manager.
+ Monitor inventory levels as directed.
+ Report maintenance issues on forklifts or combi’s to the Receiving Manager.
+ Responsible for compliance of safety equipment on forklifts and completing any safety daily checklists on the forklifts or combi’s.
+ Perform general forklift maintenance as necessary.
+ Report the need any necessary repairs to the Receiving Manager.
+ Adhere to all safety or OSHA rules, policies and procedures as it pertain to this position.
+ Assist with training employees as directed by management.
+ Assist management in giving feedback for performance reviews.
+ Any other duties as assigned.

+ Knowledge of general material handling practices and safety procedures
+ Must be forklift certified through company related training
+ Ability to operator material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, banders, hoists and lifting equipment
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
+ Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
+ Skilled in material handling techniques
+ Some computer experience required
**Education and/or Experience:**
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Two years experience preferred with material handling equipment. Must have communication skills appropriate for the job and ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
**Language Skills:**
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
**Mathematical Skills:**
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. In addition to the lifting the job requires various carrying, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crawling and squatting.
