Danfoss in Newbern, TN has an immediate opening for a Water Spider to join our diverse team. The Production Operator reports directly to the department Supervisor and is responsible for operating all machines to maintain established quality standards and production schedules in the manufacture of braided hose. The hours for this position are Monday to Thursday 8:45 pm – 7:00 am with the potential for overtime.
The water spider is responsible for transportation of materials to and from different operations to allow machine operators to concentrate on value added activities. This material can include but not limited to rubber, wire, yarn, pallets, and raw materials. The water spider is accountable for keeping material supplied to all operations by providing the right parts, at the right time and the right place. The water spider will spend most of their time moving around the production floor on an assigned route to ensure all operations in the assigned area are properly supplied with materials.

Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure the required materials are always available at the agreed place and time Prepare, communicate, and execute a plan to effectively provide material needed to run the next job in queue for braiders Coordinate with Supervisors, Team Leaders, and operators to ensure materials are ready to run when scheduled. Maintain correct levels of Work in Process at all equipment in the assigned area. Ensure that material and storage in their area of assignment appears clean. React and take immediate actions in case of changes in priority Participate in continuous improvement and root cause problem solving (RCPS) Work according to standard operating procedures. Complete all transactions Assist with changeovers when needed Properly label material Flexible enough to assist other shifts as needed Ability to come in early or stay later than scheduled shift to ensure all lines are properly supplied for the next shift.
