We are looking for new grad mechanical engineers to join our Material Handling Engineering team. The Material Handling group of Fluor’s Mining and Metals business line is involved in all aspects of bulk material handling solutions for the global mining industry. This includes design and mechanical engineering of large-scale belt conveyors, crushing and screening stations, and bulk material storage and reclaim for the largest and most challenging mining applications in the world. The successful candidate will receive guidance under a senior mechanical engineer and learn about the life of a project and how engineering supports each phase.
Material Handling EIT Responsibilities:
• Create equipment specifications and datasheets for simple to medium complexity equipment
• Develop and upkeep mechanical equipment list database
• Perform calculations related to stockpile and bin design and equipment sizing
• Review vendor equipment documents and drawings for compliance and solve problems of basic to moderate engineering complexity
• Compose technical memorandums and reports to document changes and decisions
• Support the lead Material Handling engineer with administration documents and interface with other discipline functions such as process, structural, electrical, and civil
• Learn and adhere to industry codes and standards as well as company practices and procedures
• Plan, sequence, and carry out assignments in a timely manner
Career Path:
• Develop into a Lead Material Handling Engineer responsible for the Material Handling scope of Projects
• Develop into a Technical Expert Material Handling Engineer (Subject Matter Expert/Fellow) supporting all Projects
• Develop into Engineering Support and Project Control specialists of a Project team
• Develop into Engineering Managers on projects directing entire Engineering efforts
• Develop into Project Engineers and Project Managers directing the overall Project
