Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Material Handling Shift Lead. This is an onsite role at our Tulsa, OK location.
The purpose of this role is to provide operation floor level leadership experience and support within our internal materials group to successfully deliver parts lineside. This includes leading hourly material handling associates in our daily mission to achieve great safety, quality, delivery and cost in all areas of our operation. The role will have exposure to all of our Internal Systems and Processes, Leadership Development, Policies and Procedures, Safety and World Class Manufacturing (WCM)/Logistics customer Service (LCS).
The internal material team is accountable for ensuring material is received, put-away, picked and delivered line side to the assembly line in line with our WCM/LCS principles. They are also responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy throughout those processes.
As the Material Handling Shift Lead you will be accountable for leading all material flow activities on the operations floor including the coordination of activities with various process partners including PENSKE, assembly, and support operations. You will also be accountable for all LCS & Workplace Organization (WO) STEP 0-7 activities. In order to be successful in this role, you must provide effective daily shift communication both within materials but also across the plant.
The Material Handling Shift Lead is also accountable to help drive continuous improvement through the executing of Kaizen events and activities. They must also “champion” WCM/LCS through daily coaching in lean tools and methodologies and the ongoing development of standardized work.

High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain operations environment Preferred skills and experiences
Associate’s degree Supply Chain Management experience Knowledge on Industry Standards, Proficient in Google Suite, MS Office, Access, Project, ERP systems (SAP), labor management software (Kronos) Ability to employ lean concepts to drive continuous improvement in their area. Proven ability to proactively coach and mentor a team to drive outstanding results. Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.Demonstrated success in a “teaming” environment. Knowledge of steps 0-3 LCS, including Kaizen, SEWO, and MEWO tools.
