Material Handling Specialist

Job Description

Ensures the accurate receipt of all incoming materials, proper labeling, and correct storage of items. Delivers both raw materials and purchased items to production areas as needed. Transports all job materials, along with job travelers, to the correct work centers. Prepares all shipments and documentation for parts orders to customers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform all core job functions as outlined in the job description, but not limited to these tasks:

Pull parts from inventory, issue them to work orders, and deliver them to the correct work center.Pull parts for sales orders and stage them for shipping.Move work in progress between work centers upon completion of each operation.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.  This includes, but is not limited to, the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:  High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Other Requirements: Must have an outstanding safety record and follow all safety policies and procedures. Participate in safety training and meetings.  Maintain clean and safe work area.  Report all injuries/accidents near misses immediately to supervisor or a member of management.  Report all unsafe acts and conditions.  Use equipment and materials properly. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Monitor own work to ensure quality.  Apply feedback to improve performance.  Look for ways to improve and promote quality. Meet productivity standards without diminishing quality of work.  Strive to increase productivity.  Complete work in a timely manner.
