As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Material Planner in Waterloo.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be performing a wide variety of production planning activities and and will be supporting procurement, as required.  Responsible for managing assigned product lines, commodities and supplier bases.

At this level, tasks and assignments tend to be general but may involve complex and/or non-routine assignments and duties are performed under limited supervision.

Detailed Description:

Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity, product line or supplier, beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.

Releases and manages work orders and rework work-orders

Responsible for parts procurement, product on-time-delivery, materials on-time-delivery, linear shipment scheduling and processing non-conforming material

Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials

Purchases materials, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels

Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards

Develops specifications for new contract orders

Obtains materials, components and equipment

Evaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate

Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value, and all other duties as assigned

Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.

Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, collaborating with management, sales, production or engineering.
