**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented **Material Planner** to join our team in **Florence, KY.**
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ **Optimize Material Planning** : By managing all aspects of the material plan, you'll ensure the site operates efficiently and meets production requirements.
+ **Enhance Supplier Schedule Accuracy** : Your oversight of aggregate supplier schedules will improve accuracy, reducing delays and ensuring timely deliveries.
+ **Balance Supply and Demand** : Managing exceptions from the Advanced Planning System will help balance supplier capabilities with plant needs, maintaining smooth operations.
+ **Assess Supplier Commitments** : Actively managing supplier commitments will allow you to assess their impact on build plans, ensuring alignment with production goals.
+ **Allocate Constrained Supply** : Engaging in the allocation process will help prioritize resources effectively, minimizing disruptions.
+ **Improve Supplier Performance** : Generating and validating supplier scorecards will provide insights into performance, driving accountability and improvements.
+ **Mitigate Supply Risks** : Interacting with demand and supply planning teams will help you understand changing demands and manage potential risks to suppliers.
+ **Enhance KPIs** : By interpreting, analyzing, and improving Key Performance Indicators, you'll contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

+ Materials Planning System Utilization - Uses the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis; occasionally refers to adhoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc. in performing problem solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations.
+ Part Change Control Management - Evaluates and implements engineering change request (obsolescence, supersessions, new part release, etc.) to meet customer delivery requirements while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
+ Plan for Every Part (PFEP) - Uses PFEP in planning, designing, and management of systems and processes within a facility to ensure delivery of right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place, which in turn guarantees smooth operations; applies PFEP principles on the end to end supply chain with particular attention to the relationships between master data management, materials planning parameters, engineered material flows, transport management, and warehouse management.
+ Material Planning - Uses advanced tools (e.g. Advanced Planning Command Centre, Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards etc.) to take a decision related to parts availability, inventory optimization and root cause analysis.
+ Materials KPI Management - Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to expectations of the organization to determine next steps to drive improvement; assesses gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables; interprets KPIs to understand end-customer impact; strategically balances trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others.
+ Inventory Management and Optimization - Uses analytics and algorithms to determine the optimal level of inventory investment across the end-to-end supply chain within specific constraints (warehouse space, customer delivery, etc.); provides guidance and expertise on planning parameter refinement; develops inventory strategies to support Cummins' strategy and not just a business unit strategy.
**Education, Licenses, Certifications:**
+ College, university, or equivalent degree required.
+ This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
**Experience:**
+ Minimal to intermediate level of experience required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Core Responsibilities**
+ Designing and implementing methods to gather and manage supply chain data
+ Reviewing and analyzing data to locate areas in the supply chain process that need improving
+ Using the results of analyses in order to improve the overall performance of the supply chain process and reduce costs
**Requirements**
+ MS Office (particularly Excel and MS Access)
+ Strong Analytical skills
+ Attention to data detail / Verifying data
**Preferred**
+ Background in ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems (AS400, Oracle, etc.)
+ Knowledge of MRP systems
+ Knowledge of Forecasting and Safety Stock systems
+ Bachelor's Degree
