Material Planner
Job Purpose Support manufacturing through effective material planning and procurement. Leverage advanced data analysis techniques to optimize inventory, forecast material needs, and maintain material flow. Collaborate with sourcing, production, warehouse, and planning teams to achieve business objectives while aligning with the company’s core values. Essential Functions • Anticipate product needs and procure all raw materials and packaging from Rise-approved suppliers as required for production, new product development, and R&D • Place, manage, and track/trace purchase orders • Review lead times, minimum order requirements, shelf-life, and usage to determine order frequency and maintain lean inventory system • Plan material to attain company metrics of inventory turns, customer fill rate, and operational efficiency • Analyze actual production volumes versus forecast and provide recommendations to increase accuracy and minimize customer out of stocks • Make data-driven purchasing decisions based on current inventory, production schedules, and sales forecast to ensure material availability • Support quotes, contracts, RFQs, and standards for purchases • Communicate proactively with key stakeholders regarding price changes, supplier shortages, and other inventory challenges • Work to resolve material shortages, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions and solutions • Foster and maintain strong relationships with supplier organizations • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews to ensure reliability and improved performance • Participate in initiatives to improve forecast accuracy, inventory management, and procurement processes • Drive continuous improvement by identifying cost savings opportunities • Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures • Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies) • Bachelor's degree in a supply chain-related discipline and/or 3 equivalent years of experience • APICS affiliation/certification • Food manufacturing experience and familiarity with commodity-sensitive businesses preferred • Retail and foodservice channel experience desired • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel; experience with ERP Systems (SAP preferred) • Experience with manufacturing modules including MRP, MPS, and WMS • Strong quantitative and analytical skills • Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel as well as suppliers, customers, and their representatives • Ability to work cross-functionally, convey complex issues, and maintain confidentiality • Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment • Ability to think quickly and handle frequent change • Self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision MON123 RISE123 California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $62,000 to $86,000 annually.
