Material Planner and Control Tech III
**Description** SAIC is currently seeking a highly skilled **Material Planner/Control Tech III** to provide essential support to our Joint Range Extension (JRE) Products Integration Group. In this role, the **Material Planner/Control Tech III** will act as a key liaison between the company and external suppliers, reporting directly to the Senior Logistics Analyst. If you are a motivated professional with a strong background in material planning and control, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to join our team at SAIC. **This role will be onsite in San Diego, CA.** **JOB DUTIES:** + The primary responsibilities of this position will involve engaging in frequent communication with suppliers through phone calls and emails, obtaining quotes, entering data, researching potential new suppliers, and reviewing and negotiating pricing based on the quotes received. + Developing new Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for JRE Products, performing cost analysis comparisons with current BOEs, and identifying any End of Life (EOL) materials. + Possess a strong understanding of effective purchasing strategies. + Proficient in interpreting and comprehending Manufacturing Drawings, including detailed Top Assembly and Sub Assembly drawings. + Experience with Cost Point a plus to research previous Purchase Order. + Ensure that suppliers, distributors, or potential material sources are on the qualified SAIC Approved Vendor List (AVL). **Qualifications** **REQUIREMENTS:** + Must be a U.S Citizen. + Candidates must have a High School Diploma. + Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. + Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are crucial. + Ability to adapt to evolving work demands and effectively manage changing priorities. + Experience in logistics within the manufacturing industry or Government is preferred, along with the ability to read and understand Manufacturing Drawings and Bill of Materials. + Detail-oriented and proactive individual who can effectively manage supplier relationships and ensure the timely delivery of quotes. + Possesses strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. + Experience generating work products and utilizing functions in Microsoft Office Programs (Word and Excel). **DESIRED SKILLS:** + Materials background and excellent record keeping skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with excellent verbal and written communication skills. + To be organized, detail oriented, a self-starter, demonstrate strong time management skills, and be able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment. + Cost point Experience (Parts Master File, Purchase Requisition and Bill of Materials). + Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks daily. Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
