This role is within the Global FPS non-metallic materials team primarily supporting the manufacturing and product development of onshore flexibles at the Houston FPS site.

As an experienced Polymer Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Participating in core business bid kick-off meetings and project handover meetings to facilitate knowledge transfer of industry requirements.Acting as a subject matter expert for polymer material and processing technology queries and clarifications as and when required by both internal and external customers.Experience working at leading engineering level, demonstrating an increased level of engineering practice and responsibility, development of others and showing leadership.Driving material and materials processing innovation, generating material qualification documents, procurement specifications and technical reports related to full product material range.Leading investigation, analysis and reporting of product and process failures in support of both internal/external customers.Existing Vendor technical support; develop and maintain technical liaison with vendors as part of continuous improvement including responses to vendor material technology queries and clarifications as and when required.Undertaking technical review and assessment of customer materials specifications providing comments, clarifications and identified risks as and when required.Defining material qualification testing programs and carrying out analyses based on test results.Coordinating proactively with the other team members (mechanical design, end fitting design, etc.) evaluating the possible impact of other disciplines’ design choices on overall pipe design.Coordinating external resources and being responsible for the issuing and releasing of all documents associated to the project.
 

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

BSc in Materials Science or a related Engineering degree with specialization in Materials or Polymer science through formal post graduate education, college qualification, formal training or experiential learning.5 years of experience working with polymer materials with an emphasis on material performance and processing.  3 years of experience as a subject matter expert supporting polymer aspects of manufacturing, product development and/or qualification and testing.Prior experience with statistical analysis is recommended.
