STS Technical Services is seeking an experienced Senior Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer with a focus on composite and bonded airframes. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in material qualification, repair techniques, non-destructive testing (NDT), project management, and Material Review Board (MRB) actions, contributing to the design and support of advanced aircraft structures.
Key Responsibilities Create, maintain, and apply M&P specifications. Review and approve engineering drawings for material and process requirements. Develop processes and quality controls for composite fabrication and bonding. Direct material qualification/equivalency test programs and analyze data. Support MRB actions for M&P discrepancies and assist in production. Work with suppliers, Procurement, and Service Centers. Travel as necessary for M&P issues. Education, Experience, Certifications BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering. 8+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5+ years in M&P Engineering. Experience with FAA Certification and MRB authority is a strong advantage. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong technical writing skills for test plans and reports. Proficient in MS Office, CMH-STATS, CATIA V5, TeamCenter, and SAP. Understanding of FAA regulations for composites during type certification. Ability to mentor and lead less experienced engineers and technicians. Physical Requirements Ability to work in environments with exposure to equipment noise, dust, or odors. Perform duties such as standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Follow FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and safety regulations while maintaining a professional working environment.
