Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to set up and execute Research & Development tests for different products in accordance with standard testing methodologies and requirements. Each day, you will perform your tasks or activities using skills and techniques as well as a practical understanding of concepts used in the field of technology. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring proper documentation of the test results.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division in Memphis, TN.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tSupporting the planning and implementation of test plans.•\tCoordinating maintenance activities related to the equipment and tools used in the laboratory.•\tIdentifying and suggesting solutions related to product non-conformities.•\tAssisting external certification inspectors during testing activities for ABB or external customer products.Our team dynamics: You will join a dedicated, innovative, passionate team, where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Environmental highly preferred). 3-5 years of work experience in a testing laboratory setting. A combination of work experience or exposure to any of the following processes: Wet analysis: chemical solutions preparation, testing procedures and adequate waste disposal, Plastics and polymers: FTIR/DSC/TGA/flammability equipment, Metals: failure analysis, corrosion & Salt Spray testing, Environmental: UV, humidity, and chemical exposure testing, Coatings evaluation: thickness, surface analysis, cross-sections and microscopy. Basic level of establishing test protocols: ability to modify/create test methods and techniques in response to needs or changing technology.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
