Material Stock Handler - Sheet Metal

Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm  

Location: Faribault North

What you will do: 

  

Responsible for shipping and receiving purchased or transferred stock and material and finished items  Unload incoming materials or purchased parts. Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with Shipper to rectify damages and shortages  Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to move items into and out of storage, Kitting area and/or production areas. Maintain necessary information and record for inventory locations on the computer and ensure appropriate flow with the materials/goods throughout the process  Perform cycle counting functions to ensure proper inventory levels  Select containers for parts or products  Pack and seal parts, coils or sections into or onto fabricated containers or skids.  Load materials into/onto trucks and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit  Use overhead crane and sheet lifter to load and unload sheet metal to maintain proper inventory in Nighttrain  Monitor and empty scrap tanks as assigned  Oversee the incoming materials and kitting process to ensure that purchased part kits are complete and meet production requirements. Responsible for receiving and issuing of all material for area. Responsible for setup and documentation flow through assigned area  Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts  Must exhibit attention to detail with a focus on quality work  Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production  Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area  Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements.  Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards.  Ability to use hand tools  Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License  All other duties as assigned 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Ability to operate hand tools  Ability to read and understand written English 

Preferred Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GED  Previous manufacturing experience
