Material Supply Representative

Job Title: Materials Supply Representative

Schedule: Monday - Friday 11pm-7am (overnight)

Description:

The Materials Supply Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and supplies within the hospital. This entry-level position involves receiving and delivering goods, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate documentation. Key responsibilities include handling deliveries, replenishing supplies, inspecting and rotating stock, and providing support for various departments. The role requires attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to lift and handle heavy packages.

Responsibilities:

•\tReceives/accepts all deliveries entering the premises at the receiving dock

•\tEnters purchase order deliveries into the Material Management computer system

•\tDelivers materials to appropriate location and obtains a signature for all packages and goods

•\tAccepts delivery of gas cylinders (e.g. oxygen tanks) and delivers them to clinics/Nursing units as needed

•\tHandles stat requests for urgent delivery to end users in a timely manner.

•\tPerforms supply distribution activities including the storing, inventorying, delivering and documenting of supplies

•\tReplenishes supplies in clinics/Nursing unit supply rooms when they arrive from the warehouse and maintains correct inventory levels.

•\tDelivers and stores all merchandise to the appropriate storage area. Rotates product using, FIFO (First In, First Out) to store items neatly in storage area.

•\tInspects, removes, and replaces expired products found on clinics/Nursing units

•\tAccurately performs physical inventory counts from clinics/Nursing unit storage areas and/or exchange carts.

•\tAccurately picks supplies from the Store Room and prepares them for transport to the clinics/Nursing units. (ONLY AT MSBI - PETRIE)

•\tUses handheld/computer to order supplies needed for replenishment of clinics/Nursing units the following day

•\tUses hand-held/computer to maintain par levels of medical/surgical supplies for Nursing units.

•\tRestocks storeroom shelves as requested. (ONLY AT MSBI - PETRIE)

•\tAccurately fills requisitions with correct quantities and products requested

•\tDocuments all transactions according to department policy and procedure.

•\tResponsible for documentation of all inventory/delivery data.

•\tRemoves empty corrugated boxes, pallets, and tote boxes as needed

•\tTransport small equipment, furnishing and supplies between department and office locations.

•\tSupplies clean linens to all clinical areas and picks up soiled linens to send out for cleaning (ONLY AT MSDUS – PACC)

•\tCollects blood specimens from all clinics and delivers them to the Pathology lab (ONLY AT MSDUS – PACC)

•\tDelivers lab reports from Pathology to all the clinics (ONLY AT MSDUS – PACC)

•\tPicks up dirty instruments from all clinics and delivers them to Central Sterile work room and delivers sterilized instruments from CSPD back to the clinics (ONLY AT MSDUS – PACC)

•\tDistributes mail to each respective Department on each floor. (ONLY AT MSDUS – PACC)

•\tResponsible for maintenance and sanitation of receiving and storage areas, including equipment.

•\tMaybe required to perform other duties as assigned.

Must Have Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.Experience: Entry-level role; no prior experience required.Skills:Extreme attention to detailEagerness to learnCritical thinkingAccountabilityBasic knowledge of inventory management and material handlingTechnical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with handheld/computer devices for inventory management is a plus.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and handle heavy packages.Work Environment: Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
