Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Scientist or Engineer for a client in the Beavercreek area who will propose and carry out research and development (R&D) projects and technology and product developments in metal additive manufacturing (AM), including but not necessarily limited to Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) processes, process monitoring, and applications. In this role, the scientist or engineer will serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI for externally funded projects, will spearhead internal technology and product developments, and will represent the client in the AM community through technical presentations and publications. The ideal candidate would be a recent Ph.D. or post-doctoral researcher with high degree of scientific curiosity, hands-on experience with AM systems, design and analysis abilities, and good verbal and written communication skills. This position is ideal for a self- starter who works well in a team environment and is eager to collaborate internally and externally to expand their skill sets and make a scientific impact in the AM field. Lesser or more educated or experienced candidates may be considered, however recent experience in metal AM is a must, preferably in LPBF technologies.
