About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 404TH Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, located in JBLM, WA. Responsibilities Receive materials/equipment to verify accuracy. Review documentation to ensure accuracy and/or attach required supporting documents. Perform condition code determination for non-technical items following established procedures. Conduct technical research to identify items/stock data accurately. Assign storage locations according to warehousing plans/procedures. Handles radioactive items using regulatory criteria and/or protective measures. Operates warehouse equipment to transport and/or stack items safely. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Examiner and Identifier (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision. Receiving and verifying materials and equipment, reviewing documentation for accuracy, conducting condition code determinations, performing technical research, handling radioactive items, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and warehouse tractors. I am skilled in these tasks and work independently under general supervision. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Physical Efforts: Works requires physical effort to include extensive walking, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing and pulling heavy materials. Requires frequent arm and leg movements to manipulate controls of fork lift and warehouse tractor. Frequently lift and handle items weighing up to 70 pounds and occasionally handles heavier items. Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily inside in a large warehouse area that may be cold, hot, damp, drafty or poorly lighted. Occasionally works outside on loading docks or open storage area exposed to all types of weather. Exposed to unpleasant noise levels, vibration and jolting from equipment operation. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises and skin irritation; subject to more serious injury from falling objects, back strains, handling hazardous material, fork lift overturning or accidents with other moving equipment. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 Months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
