Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN USPFO, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D1908000. Responsibilities Identifies, receives, sorts, counts, classifies and handles hazardous materials in the USPFO storage areas. Insures the safe receipt, storage and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances. Responsible to identify, collect, process and consolidate hazardous waste in preparation for disposal. Receives or rejects materiel, equipment, including non-standard equipment, and complex assemblies. Determines acceptance, serviceability and distribution requirements for perishable, classified, precious metals, textiles, clothing, complex electronic/mechanical equipment, assemblies and components. Performs a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, inspecting for defects, storing, selecting and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Assists with the development of facility regulations, and operating instructions that relate to hazardous materials management and HAZMAT safety procedures. Performs duties to provide storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or any other related supply activities. Serves as the Precious Metals Recovery Program (PRMP) monitor. Develops, establishes and maintains work center training programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E4 through E7 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 92G, 92A, 92Y, 74D, 88M, 88N, 92R GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to distinguish between closely related or similar items, ability to follow procedures, ability to sort materials by type, and skill in the use of hand tools. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 12 months experience or training identifying and sorting a variety of complex materials and equipment. Experience receiving materials and equipment, recording, and placing items in proper storage areas. Experience preparing all items for shipment using appropriate agency instructions. Experience in mathematical equations. Experience interpreting and using Federal Supply Catalogs, military and manufacturing catalogs, and technical and agency manuals. Experience using and operating forklifts and motor vehicles. **FWS POSITIONS ONLY**: Specialized Experience Requirements for NGB Federal Wage System Positions for claiming civilian job experience: Creditable experience must have been performed at least 30 consecutive days and be properly documented. Experience in the same line of work can only be credited on the basis of a regular 40-hour workweek. Hours per week MUST be documented on resume to receive any credit.
