The Materials Manager will lead excellence around material supply planning, supplier relationships, and both in-plant materials management and finished good distribution for a division within Regal Rexnord’s Automation & Motion Control Segment. This position will focus to improve material flow by balancing demand and supply through the maturity of SIOP, demand planning, master scheduling, material planning, inventory management, production control, and logistics processes.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, this role is accountable for the supply and movement of all materials from their source to the point of use on the assembly line through distribution, logistics and final delivery to our customers.  This involves actively planning and executing to achieve productivity and efficiency targets as well as managing risk and generating cost savings to achieve the strategic goals of the business.  Additionally, they are also responsible for working with Product Management, Commercial and the Commercial Operations teams in the setting of service level agreements and the strategic planning/deployment for both market share and international growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop a vision and long-term strategy related to the systems, process, and skills roadmap for the future of materials management and SIOP function across the division aligned with the broader RRX organizationLead supply chain and materials management initiatives by providing direction and guidance as well as setting clear performance expectations and coaching for excellence for key stakeholders.Lead/collaborate with demand planning, product line leadership, engineering, operations, and finance teams to drive cross-functional alignment.Lead/collaborate with product management, commercial and commercial operations on the development of SLAs as well as the associate strategic planning and deployment related to achieving revenue share shift / growth.Identify opportunities to develop, improve or simplify processes, guidelines and policies for effective supplier management practices, order fulfillment, inventory management and materials management activities.Identify business risks and implementing resolutions and scalable mechanisms across the in-plant materials management and supply chain management function.Establish a culture focused on continuous process improvements aimed at achieving predictability and efficient materials management operations.Establish performance monitoring/KPI programs to effectively measure the performance of our internal team and our supply chain.Manage to ensure the SIOP plan is set in accordance to meet customer expectations and that all manufacturing locations are in line to support it.Identify and implement total supply chain improvements. Increase supply chain visibility to assist in inventory reduction and on time delivery. Evaluate networks and pursue systems/process enhancements to reduce costs and improve reliability.Develop analytics to measure, evaluate, analyze, and take corrective action to continually improve key metrics in materials management and the supply chain.Responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of the Materials Management function.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain/ Materials, Business Administration or equivalent experience.Prior experience with international supply chain planning and leading a supply chain team.Prior experience with utilizing lean methodology and tools to improve operations.Experience leading a team of purchasing and planning professionals.Experience in injection molding and assembly operations, preferred.Experience in managing receiving, shipping, logistics and distribution functions, preferred.Sound knowledge of SAP/ERP experience is preferred.Experience utilizing a Kanban inventory system.Experience providing materials for both build to order and warehouse managed businesses.
