**The Role:**
Xylem seeks to hire a Materials Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all facets of supply chain from receiving of raw, WIP components to the production and shipment of finished goods. Manage the demand and the production of finished goods, which includes the planning, forecasting, scheduling, purchasing and inbound and outbound material movement to support production, customer service and inventory dollar goals. In addition, this person is responsible for delivering year over year.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
+ Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
+ Maintains consistent leadership for materials planning and inventory control personnel, including performance management and team development.
+ Develops and manages critical performance goals (material availability, inventory, turns, inventory accuracy, supplier on-time delivery, Gross Material Productivity, and PPV) and translates the goals into performance expectations for materials team and forecasts for finance.
+ Leads, manages, and directs all materials related processes – including S&OP, delinquency recovery actions, demand management, production control, business information systems and supply chain process improvement activities.
+ Identifies material planning, MRP, and Kanban training deficiencies both within and outside of materials team; Facilitates education and development sessions; Drives best practice implementation throughout materials team in coordination with the LSS site leader.
+ Assures appropriate ordering parameters and vendor expediting actions are in place for the business to meet its goals and execute on time delivery to our customers.
+ Prioritizes IT efforts in developing information and systems for Operations team. Critical team member on MRP/ERP improvement projects.
+ Serves as liaison with other business processes (finance, customer service, engineering, marketing, sales and procurement) to assure business goals are met.
+ Effectively delivers the strategic vision for materials management, both internally and externally to the business.
+ Responsible for controlling purchase order execution for the facility. Ordering the right amount of material to satisfy customer demand, while protecting the company from excess and obsolete inventory whenever possible. Responsible for developing accurate inventory forecasts, using all available business data during creation.
+ Inspire Commitment – Effectively communicate priorities to the materials team. Develop production and inventory control skills of the team. Influence material availability improvement activities throughout the organization.
+ Lead with Character – Has courage and conviction to protect our customers’ product requests without exception. Uses honest communications while showing their willpower to change the status quo.
+ Deliver Results – Drives continuous improvement changes throughout organization, using customer facing prioritization and planning as the baseline.
+ Create the Future – Uses data driven decisions to improve team’s customer focus. Communicates materials team future state vision and executes development plans.
+ Build through Teamwork – Develops trust throughout materials, operations, and business teams. Collaborates to create the best outcome for our customers.
+ Other duties as assigned by Manager.
**Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:**

+ BS/BA Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
+ 6-8 years Materials and/or Operations experience
+ 4 years Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with a mix of ETO, CTO and customized BOM’s.
+ Current computer skills (Microsoft Office Advanced Excel user preferred, Visio, Business Objects, etc.)
+ MRP / Kanban experience (ERP-LX or BPCS preferred)
+ Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including ability to effectively coach, motivate, empower, develop and evaluate employees.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of external and internal customers.
+ Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
+ Strong bias for action, and effective change agent.
+ Proficiency in managing and facilitating teams through problem solving and conflict resolutions.
+ Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Lead Master certifications
+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Salary range:
$93,900.00 - $169,000.00
