This role will focus on optimizing inventory levels, enhancing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the materials management processes. **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop and implement materials management strategies to optimize inventory levels while ensuring on-time production and delivery. + Lead and oversee procurement, supplier management, and material planning functions. + Monitor supply chain performance, identify risks, and implement solutions to mitigate supply disruptions. + Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory accuracy, material availability, and supplier performance. + Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams to align materials planning with manufacturing schedules. + Drive cost-saving initiatives through supplier negotiations, process improvements, and waste reduction strategies. + Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards in materials handling. + Implement and manage an ERP/MRP system for efficient materials planning and inventory control. + Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing materials management team. + Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to maintain a resilient and flexible supply chain. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred. + 5+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment. + Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory management principles. + Proven ability to lead coach and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. + Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical skills. + Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. + Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. + APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is preferred. **Job Title:** Materials Manager **Location:** Fultonville, NY **Department:** Supply Chain **Fortive Corporation Overview** Fortive’s essential technology makes the world stronger, safer, and smarter.
