**Job Summary**
The Material Management Technician is responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment throughout the facility. This role ensures that all materials are managed efficiently and accurately to support patient care and facility operations. The Material Management Technician collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to maintain adequate inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
**Essential Functions**
+ Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming shipments of medical supplies and equipment for accuracy and quality.
+ Stores supplies in designated locations according to established guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized inventory area.
+ Distributes supplies and equipment to departments as needed, ensuring timely delivery and availability.
+ Assists in maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular counts, and reconciling discrepancies.
+ Utilizes inventory management software to track supplies, update records, and generate reports.
+ Communicates with vendors regarding order status, discrepancies, or returns, coordinating with the purchasing department as necessary.
+ Monitors supply usage and initiates reorders to maintain adequate inventory levels, preventing shortages.
+ Follows safety protocols for handling, storing, and distributing medical supplies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and facility guidelines.
+ Provides support for special projects, equipment setup, and supply chain optimization as needed.
+ Assists in the implementation of new processes or systems related to materials management.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ H.S. Diploma or GED required
+ Less than 2 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or a related field required
+ 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of materials management, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
+ Proficiency in using inventory management software and standard office applications.
+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to lift and move heavy materials, as required for the role.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with clinical and administrative staff.
+ Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet supply demands.
+ Knowledge of safety protocols related to handling medical supplies and equipment.
