JSG is hiring a Materials Planner for a 3+ months contract opportunity in North Hollywood, CA. BS Degree required for this position.

Pay rate: $30-$36 DOE

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the liaison with Contracts for loading and lead-time of all new Sales Orders. Monitor the sales backlog for the assigned planner code. Ensure Delivery Notes are generated promptly with Contracts to allow sufficient time for kitting, inspection, and shipping within expected turnaround times (TAT). Ensure the timely delivery of all parts through coordination with the Receiving and Shipping departments. Prioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and departmental workload. Coordinate the purchase and planning of materials required to meet the production schedule. Expedite and schedule orders to meet company and financial objectives. Process changes, reschedules, and manage outside processing to achieve production schedule goals. Place and manage purchase orders as needed. Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes to determine time requirements and convert production plans into specific time schedules. Review MRP order action messages, maintain schedules, and resolve issues until shipment. Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP messages, while negotiating prices and delivery terms that align with schedule needs. Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving on-time deliveries of quality products. Follow through on special requests and expedite orders as needed. Identify potential late deliveries and implement recovery plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree (Required) Field of Study/Area of Experience: 2-4 years of experience in Planning 5 years of experience in production control, including material/inventory management in a defense or aerospace environment.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent planning, organizational, and motivational skills. Proficiency with JDE MRP system is highly beneficial. Extensive MRP/ERP experience is required; SAP knowledge is desirable. General knowledge of machine shop practices and processing standards is helpful. Understanding of military and commercial standards is a plus. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized MRP systems.
