Job Title: Materials Planner
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Planner to join our team. Our company is an industry leader in trace moisture analyzers, with products used in laboratory and process applications across various markets, including semiconductor fabrication, space exploration, and medical and industrial gas production. The Materials Planner will utilize software systems, such as Material Requirements Planning (MRP), to analyze historical sales data, Bill of Materials (BOM), and inventory levels to forecast future demand, calculate required raw materials, and optimize ordering quantities. The ideal candidate will ensure the right materials are available at the right time for production while minimizing inventory costs and avoiding stock outs.

ResponsibilitiesProcurement of materials, equipment, and services to support manufacturing, engineering, R&D, and service functions.Negotiating prices, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers.Expediting orders as needed to meet production schedules.Maintaining vendor relationships and sourcing new suppliers.Analyzing data, BOM, and inventory levels to forecast demand and optimize ordering quantities.Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.Essential Skills2+ years' experience using MRP system to analyze data, BOM, and inventory levels.2+ years' experience in Purchasing/Buying in the manufacturing industry.2+ years' experience sourcing suppliers and maintaining relationships.2+ years' experience implementing inventory optimization strategies.2+ years' experience negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years as a Buyer/Purchaser/Procurement Specialist for a manufacturing company.Experience negotiating pricing with vendors.Experience sourcing new vendors for purchasing existing and new supplies.Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP, inventory management, procurement, and supplier management processes.BS in Business or related discipline, and five or more years of relevant experience in high-tech manufacturing.Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Procurement experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus.APICS certification is a plus.Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment with approximately 10 other employees. The Materials Planner will report directly to the CEO and will be the sole procurement professional for the company. The position requires independent work and a deep understanding of the procurement process. The dress code is business casual, and the working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00
