This role involves researching, designing, and developing materials and their fabrication processes to optimize their use in aerospace structures and systems. It requires applying principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to create specifications for metals, non-metals, and composites. The job includes developing and improving fabrication and assembly processes, conducting material analyses such as failure analysis and lifespan predictions, and defining requirements. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and approving material processing procedures from subcontractors.
