Collins Aerospace Systems Aircraft Wheels and Brakes designs and builds wheel and brake systems for commercial, military, and regional business aircraft.  Global REACh (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and restriction of chemicals) regulations demand innovative solutions for the design and manufacturing of our products.  As the Materials and Process Technology (M&PT) Intern, you will be assigned short- and long-term work assignments, under supervision of a Global REACh focal for chemical regulation compliance support. This role is remote.

What You Will Do:

You will do specification analysis to fully understand how our engineering drives hazardous substance usage.You will provide assistance in preparing chemical usage surveys for deployment to manufacturing sites worldwide, compiling and assessing results.You will be evaluating usage of products targeted for reduction or elimination and researching alternate products for 16 world-wide sites.You will review of engineering specifications and other literature searches.

What You Will Learn:

You will be provided access to Collin’s Aerospace communities of practice for learning and networking opportunities. You will gain an understanding of how our aerospace design and manufacturing ties into global chemical regulations.You will learn technical introductions to Landing Systems engineering and manufacturing concepts.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Aptitude in Chemistry.Passion for sustainability and worker safety.Excellent Communication skills.Pursuing degree in Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
