Position Overview
The Materials Program Manager (MPM) is a critical role responsible for driving material availability for production by proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders including Engineering (EN), Quality Management (QM), Order Management (OM), Production Control (PC), Logistics, Scheduling, and Project Management (PM). The MPM's success lies in their ability to coordinate, escalate, and resolve material-related challenges to support seamless production operations.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform Look Ahead/Gap Analysis to identify critical material shortages by reviewing demand dates, supplier commitments, and production status. Attend Engineering/Procurement meetings to evaluate schedule impacts and escalate late material release issues to management. Ensure purchase orders are issued on time by working closely with Planner/Buyers and Production Control. Communicate with suppliers to address critical shortages impacting production. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate performance reports, charts, and presentations. Foster strong partnerships with all stakeholders, emphasizing continuous improvement and constructive feedback.To thrive in this role, you have:
Worked on a Supply Chain or procurement role over the past 5 years on an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment Highly proficient MS Excel skills. MRP systems knowledge, SAP Preferred. Excellent written & oral communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline – supply chain, business, manufacturing or industrial engineering degree Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to perform gap analyses.
