Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Materials Supervisor to join their team. As a Materials Supervisor, you will be part of the Materials Management Department supporting the production team. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and a strong background in materials procurement. **Job Title:** Materials Supervisor **Location:** Dothan, AL **Pay Range:** $25 per hour **What's the Job?** + Direct and coordinate the activities of personnel engaged in purchasing, expediting, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and inventory control to support manufacturing with an uninterrupted flow of material. + Coordinate with Engineering in early product development stages, providing information on the cost-effectiveness of various design attributes requiring purchased materials. Review and approve all purchase orders. + Monitor inventory levels in storage and work areas to ensure material availability in production. + Research and select suppliers. Develop and maintain good vendor relations. Negotiate price and terms with suppliers. + Work with Quality Assurance and vendors to improve the quality of purchased materials and reduce defects. Review engineering change notices for impact on purchased materials and make appropriate changes. **What's Needed?** + Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business or materials management, experience in lieu of degree will be considered + 3 – 8 years of experience in materials procurement in a manufacturing environment.
