The 10-week summer program creates the opportunity for a graduate associate to partner with leadership to execute the company’s short- and long-term transformation initiatives. These initiatives are defined during the annual strategic planning process and help drive growth, improve operating efficiency, enhance cash conversion, and reduce costs across the global GPC organization. To support this effort, we are looking for a Summer Associate to lead a strategic project in partnership with business leaders in Finance, including Digital Transformation, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Payroll, etc.
A strong candidate will have working experience with finance business processes and the desire to learn about next generation technology. Foundational skills include communication, business analysis, problem-solving, cross-team coordination, project management, finance/business processes, and change management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional global interactions with executive leaders, departments, and operational business units.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement to help inform GPC value creation and strategic priorities.
Identify potential risks associated with finance transformation initiatives and propose mitigation strategies.
Research industry best practices and benchmark against GPC’s internal processes.
Recommend improvements based on best practices and industry standards.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Encourages new ideas, processes, and approaches.
Qualifications:
Enrollment in MBA program (full-time, executive, or part-time).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, investment banking, accounting, finance, or finance IT.
Ability to think long-term and consider the broader impact of financial decisions.
Synthesize complex financial data to enable fact-based decision making that translates into action.
Embodies a driven mentality with a high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrates the ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
Understanding of business strategy and how finance transformation aligns with organization goals.
Permanent US Work Authorization required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with a technology-enabled finance transformation project.
Knowledge of current GPC finance tech stack, including but not limited to Oracle, Workday, OneStream, IBM Planning Analytics, RPA (Blue Prism), Blackline, Nintex, Power BI, AuditBoard, and Workiva.
Experience with building dashboards - Power BI.
