MBSE Chief Engineer
As a solutions-based company, Precise Systems is focused on innovation in support of the warfighters and aligning our expertise to deliver the highest quality of service. Powered by our highly skilled workforces, we provide expert consultation on network and weapons systems acquisition programs, maintenance/modernization programs, and sustainment programs with solutions in Digital Transformation, Advanced Engineering, Physical Sciences Research, Platform Lifecycle Support, and Technical Services. Since our establishment, we have demonstrated and perfected our ability to manage the customer's needs, no matter how complex – offering exceptional service and the Precise solution. As a system engineer on our team, you will work on complex technical problems, provide highly innovative solutions, develop advanced technology ideas, and guide system development into a final product. You will apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across one or more components of the system development life cycle (SDLC), including concept development, technical planning, requirements development, system analysis, system design, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal. You will participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs) and drive the proper application of systems engineering processes, specifically Model Based Systems Engineering. You will need to demonstrate experience with the systems engineering (SE) process for system acquisitions, including systems engineering plans, system engineering technical reviews (SETRs), system certification processes, and specialty engineering activities. Develop your skills in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to digital engineering, transitioning from document-based environments into a product-centric, integrated, digital enterprise. Built on a model-based, integrated development or data environment, a digital enterprise supports multi-disciplinary, multi-organizational stakeholders and leverages product-line reference architectures and a shared model library to develop, deliver, and sustain a system through its lifecycle. We believe the application of MBSE tailored to the nature of the specific mission and unique requirements of our customers supports and improves acquisition, operations, performance, and system lifecycle sustainment. Required Experience: + 10 years of experience with performing systems engineering for weapons systems + Experience with using the architecture of complex systems to create and manage a tailored model-based system engineering (MBSE) product to support: interface management, system interface control documents, system behavior diagrams, including use case and sequence diagrams and network diagrams, mapping system requirements to physical and functional architecture, and conducting configuration management of system configurations + Experience with systems engineering requirements and concept development; design and development of system architecture; systems hardware and software design and development; human systems integration; system integration and test; information assurance; and model-based system engineering (MBSE) principles and MBSE tools used to generate systems engineering products + Experience with MBSE tools, including Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or open source SysML equivalent, Seiments Teamcenter & Teamwork Cloud + Knowledge of Model-Based Development and ease the transition from paper-based processes to model-based processes including MBE, MBSE, OSA, SySML, M&S or HLA + Ability to build a digital thread through a program by using models throughout the development life cycle + Ability to apply models to support decision making. Desired Experience: + Experience with orchestrating the development of a system of interest encompassing hardware or software through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk/opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project + Experience with combat system integration with command and control, weapon control, networks, display systems, and communications systems. + Experience with transitioning DOORS based technical specification documentation into a model based environment + Experience with working on unusually complex problems and providing highly innovative solutions + Knowledge of other SE disciplines, including configuration management, risk management, Cybersecurity, system safety, and certification processes + Thorough understanding of a systems thinking approach to architecture design + Ability to create leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts; contribute to the development of new principles and concepts + Ability to operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision; mentors or supervises employees in both firm and technical competencies + Ability to define system requirements and CONOPS and refine them as needed throughout system development, and develop the system design, to include interfaces + Ability to identify and support the test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements and needs + Ability to identify stakeholder needs, explore concepts and technologies to meet those needs, and propose viable system solutions + Ability to support the operational use of the system to ensure fit-for-purpose throughout its lifecycle until system retirement + Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Certification + Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification Required Education: BS or BA in Engineering Discipline Desired Education: MS in Systems Engineering Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
