This role is one of five team leadership positions within the Systems Engineering team, part of the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Resource Management Area (RMA). The MBSE Systems Engineering Lead is responsible for managing and guiding the MBSE team, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and supporting team member growth and development. The role involves technical competency in systems engineering, interfacing with various stakeholders, and adherence to Agile development processes.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage the MBSE team, reporting to the SE Engineering Manager.
+ Maintain accurate metrics of team progress.
+ Handle team staffing responsibilities, including interviewing, performance management, and team member development.
+ Ensure technical competency in team deliverables and act as a reviewer to ensure quality.
+ Lead iteration planning for the team.
+ Consume use cases and systems engineering artifacts to implement customer requested capabilities.
+ Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development.
+ Author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
+ Provide support to junior systems engineering team members.
+ Adhere to DOORS processes and procedures.
+ Review the content and details of technical products.
+ Act as a technical interface to MDA counterparts as required.
+ Actively participate in Agile development efforts, including iteration planning and status updates.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7+ years of experience.
+ Active Secret Clearance.
+ Experience in increasingly responsible roles in the development, integration, and support of large-scale software-intensive systems.
+ Experience with complex command and control systems, mission analysis, performance analysis, requirements solicitation, decomposition, and management.
+ Experience in the development of models to drive solutions.
+ Expertise in DoDAF and SysML methodologies.
+ Experience performing object-oriented analysis (OOA) to decompose systems into executable SysML models.
+ Good understanding of the Layered Architecture concept.
+ Experience transitioning a mature and evolving project into MBSE.
+ Deep understanding of requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with other MBSE tools like SparxEA or Rhapsody.
+ Experience with Agile methods and Epic and Feature definition.
+ Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation processes.
Work Environment
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It supports a layered missile defense capability, enabling an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. The program is vital for planning ballistic missile defense operations, managing networked sensors and weapons systems, and synchronizing autonomous operations to achieve global and regional mission objectives. The work environment involves a collaborative effort with various stakeholders, including government customers, to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $83.00
