Job DescriptionVerifies the accuracy and quantity of supplies received by comparing packing order or invoice to purchase order request. Documents accuracy of orders and transmits invoices according to department policy. Reports discrepancies to Purchasing Manager as appropriate.Unpacks, labels, and shelves food and supplies in their designated area upon delivery. Removes items from original box and places stock on the appropriate shelves. Rotates supplies using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) Method. Dates food items for arrival date.Checks condition of incoming order for damage or defects. Inspects for and removes dented, bulging canned goods, or other unsatisfactory products. Records information on unsatisfactory products and notifies Purchasing Manager of problems according to departmental policy.Dispenses supplies from the storeroom promptly and efficiently to the main kitchen and cafeteria, as requested. Pulls all meats, frozen foods, and grocery items for next days production needs according to the requisitions received.Covers, dates, and labels food requiring refrigeration, and opened containers of dry goods according to departmental policy.Company Description

QualificationsMinimum of one year general work experience is preferred. Experience in materials handling, warehousing, food storage, issuing supplies, and stocking shelves is preferred.Knowledge of basic math to include addition and subtraction is required to check the accuracy of shipping invoices and in counting supplies received.Effective verbal communication skills are necessary in order to understand and interpret supply orders and explain shipping problems with a supervisor, and responding accurately to their questions or concerns.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
