Job DescriptionJob Title: MCM Project Leader
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
About the role:
As an MCM Project Leader, you will manage projects of material changes/implementation (raw material, auxiliaries, excipients, packaging, etc.) for all impacted manufacturing sites ensuring supply continuity and business growth. You will coordinate the implementation of raw materials for a group of products while balancing plant efficiency, customer service, and meeting, manufacturing, quality and regulatory requirements. You will also align controversial Supply Chain factors and needs (Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management) in the context of material change to one Supply Chain implementation strategy and process. You will report to the Materials Management Lead within the Supply Planning function of the broader Supply Chain organization.
How you will contribute:
Manage projects of raw material changes (Supplier Notifications of Change, Material Change Requests, Decommissioning and Product Exits) for all products/plants considering lowest possible impact on market supply and manufacturing operations while still maintaining highest possible efficiency in change implementation.
Lead projects with different levels of complexity affecting multiple sites and products.
Lead cross-divisional or projects with a broad scope: Identify and engage necessary resources. Identify barriers and recommend solutions. Develop a project plan and execute to timeline. Communicate project status to requestors, customers and senior management.
Define the scope of change and implement plan and if required mitigation strategy based on supply/demand forecast. Optimize inventory levels with Supply Planning to reduce the financial impact of the change while securing the launch of the new material.
Align different Supply Chain views and needs (Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management) in the context of material change to one Supply Chain implementation strategy.
Lead global teams (internal/external) in defining strategies, developing goals, assigning project tasks and ensure the team meets all goals.
Analyze complex data with the understanding of trade-offs between different business goals and present recommendations.
Ensure globally harmonized application of raw material implementation processes across the different functions and facilities.
Monitor, control and report process performance of material changes.
Define and control transparent process for business case development of requested material changes as base for definition of project priority and required implementation target date.
Process alignment and improvement.
Establish and maintain relationships with customers (sites), stakeholders, third parties/vendors.
Initiate escalation process and facilitate for issues endangering supply continuity or fulfillment of business-critical goal.
What you bring to Takeda:
Education in natural sciences, biotechnology, engineering or economics: minimum bachelor's degree (or at least 5 years proven practical experience as described below) would be ideal.
If bachelor or higher: min 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing and/or quality in (bio)pharmaceutical production (GMP environment).
Project Management, Change Control, Supply Chain, Materials Management knowledge.
People Management per experience and/or education.
IT: ERP systems (C3ME, SAP or others), EQM systems (e.g. TrackWise, Saba, Veeva), project management tools, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Practical experience in material and/or label change in GMP environment would be ideal.
Specific/certified education in Supply Chain Management or Project Management would be ideal.
Manage multiple projects and priorities at a time.
Engage others by motivating/influencing others to gain support for ideas, strategies and actions.
Establish productive relationships and partners with others across the organization to ensure understanding of goals and achieve shared goals through this collaboration.
Important Considerations

Domestic/International travel may be required up to 10%
Normal office environment.
Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
The overall physical exertion of this position is sedentary work.
May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

67,900.00 - 106,700.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives.
