The Managing Director, Privacy Compliance and Investment Services, is responsible for developing a compliance risk management program for privacy risk and for providing compliance services to Webster investment and trust service lines of business (LOB).  This includes assisting the line in developing oversight of service providers, including partner registered investment advisors (RIA).

This role is also responsible for assessing banking regulations and guidance aligned to the line of business and the various service delivery approaches and channels.  The MD Privacy and CIS will be designated as the Webster Privacy Officer with responsibility for privacy risk management including internal coordination with Information Risk, Chief Information Security Officer and Cybersecurity services and for identifying, analyzing, and supporting data breach situations.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for researching federal and key state banking and securities laws and regulations, reviewing the bank’s policies and procedures, and disseminating pertinent information to senior management and lines of business.

Monitor changes in laws and regulations from federal banking and securities agencies applicable to the business, products and services offered by Webster and its partners.  Duties include conducting impact analysis, identification, and delivery of required training, and developing policies, where needed.

Conduct, at a minimum, an annual risk assessment of the laws, rules and regulations governing Webster trust and investment products and services.  Assist with carrying out compliance risk assessments, assessing inherent risk, control effectiveness and rationale for risk ratings.

Develop metrics to monitor compliance and assist the first line in establishing related risk metrics.

Assist first line control officer(s) in developing review, reconciliation, and quality control processes.

Support the development of new or modifications to products and services or new business initiatives for the offering or provision of investment and/or trust services.

Review account disclosures, advertisements, and marketing materials to ensure that these materials comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

Assist in the preparation of internal audit reviews and regulatory examinations.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Must have at least 7 -10 years of cumulative experience in Compliance, Risk, or Audit in financial services with responsibility for investment and/or trust services and privacy compliance.

Candidates with degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) required  

Extensive knowledge of SEC laws and regulations and FINRA rules and guidance

FINRA Series 14 - Compliance Officer required

FINRA Series 24 - General Securities Principal required

FINRA Series 7 - General Securities Representative preferred

Certified Information Privacy Manager, CIPM, or Certified Information Privacy Professional, CIPP, required

Experience with banking laws and regulations, with a focus on those related to bank holding companies and national banks

Strong written, verbal, and communication skills, particularly for presentations

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Knowledge of banking applications and systems, preferred

Knowledge of banking products and services

Effective project management and analytical skills

Effective decision-maker

The estimated hourly range for this position is $160,000 USD to $180,000 USD.  Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
